MSN Group Finale

Our long-running MSN Group, Unexplained in the Tri-State, will be shutting down next month when Microsoft discontinues the MSN Group service. If any of you are still using MSN, please sign-up for our newer Google Group at http://groups.google.com/group/anomalyresponse. Please note that this refers to just the MSN Group, not the television series by the same name.

Having reviewed the posts for this article, the most interesting one for me to read was the suggestion for a UFO Hunters show years before the History Channel came out with one. Here are some highlights from the group in backwards chronological order from each section:

Subject: Ghost Stories of Ohio

Sent: 2/19/2005 12:10 PM

Hello.
I am a life long resident of Northeast Ohio and have heared many stories of Ghosts and UFO's. I Just want to hear what some of you have heared and if any of you have seen any strange sights in the Akron area.

Let me share with you one of the many stories I have heared.
One day, on the highway between Cleaveland and the greater Akron-Canton area, a trucker spotted a boy of about 12 or 13 on the side of the road. he stopped right next to the boy, concerned that maybe there had been a crash and the boy had gone up the road to find help, but when he opened the door, the boy seemed to just dissapeare. As you can imagine, the trucker was a bit shaken. After a few days, the man decided to investigate into this little happening. He found a report that a boy that looked exactly like the boy he had saw had been found dead on that exact highway, about a foot down. He had run away from home and been hit by a car.

Leaving you with that, I hope that you can share some of your Ohio ghost stories with me.

Ollie.

Subject: I saw some strange lights
From: river rat (Original Message)

Hi,

I am from West Portsmouth, OH about 1 mile West of Portsmouth, OH and across the Scioto River. My wife Steph has had two sightings of strange lights, and one of the experiences caused her eyes to burn. Now, my wife hates the paranormal and has never had an interest in these things. Anyway, each time she was coming home from town, and when you leave Portsmouth it is i mile across the Scioto River "Bottoms" to get to our house. You can see the hills by our house( we live in a small valley). On parts of the hill behind our house Mead Paper Company clear cut trees, and this is where she saw the lights come from. She said they would rise up into the air from the clear cut area and each time they was a very bright red.
I have lived on this same road for 28 years and hunted and hiked these hills for many years. I never seen anything out of the ordinary.
Saturday Jan. 1, 2005 we was in town at her Mom's watching the college football games. I had to leave early, because I had to go to work early in the morning. My wife said she would come home in a little bit. (We drove two cars because I came over after work, and she was already at her Mom's House.) Our two kids was spending the night so I said my goodbyes and told Steph I would see her later. I drove home without incident.
I needed to use the bathroom and I was in there about five minutes when I heard a bunch of beating on the door and footsteps running through the house. All of a sudden the door flew open to the bathroom, and here I was sitting on the toilet facing my hysterical wife! "You have to see this! she yelled. I thought something happened like a car reck or something. She continued, "Come on... come outside and see this." I could tell it was "something" so I ran outside with her.
She pointed towards the hill and I saw what she was excited about. Behind the trees and where the hill "grades" upward I saw several lights, and they alternated red, white, red, white and there was several in a straight line. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The lights was plain and bright as could be and they was slowly moving together, but looked to be spinning around something a little faster than there total motion. I tried to think of what it was I was looking at, but I couldn't. The lights made no sound and didn't flash, but they flickered as the trees blocked some of the lights as it moved. If the lights was a part of some craft, and judging by the trees, the object was around 100 to 200 feet long! It was huge, and do to the grade of the hill, I couldn't see every light because it was moving parcially behind the hill.
I told Steph to get the camera, but by the time she came back out it had moved behind the hill. So, we jumped into the van to travel the road on the other side of the hill, but to no avail. It was gone. We drove around for awhile, but never seen anymore lights. After about a half hour we came home. When we got out of the car we could hear several jets flying overhead, but the sky was cloudy and we couldn't see them.
I know other people on the road from Portsmouth had to see these lights. Because they was up in the air and on the side of the hill that faces the City of Portsmouth. So, if nybody has heard about a similer sighting on the same date please let me know. Otherwise, I think I am crazy.

On 1-12-05 about 7pm or few minutes after I was walking back from my
brother's house (2 doors down) and I saw this big spotlight object
flying from the west. (I live on West 13th St Ashtabula Ohio.)

I was thinking that it was probably "Life flight" coming into ACMC
(Ashtabula County Medical Center) so I stayed at the bottom of my
driveway to watch. When it got closer the white light diminished. By
the time that this craft was over me I could swear I could see a
black triangular shape with a series of different colored lights
flashing rapidly on all three corners. No noise! Was listening for
chopper sounds. Never heard them.

Well, I ran back down to my brother's house to have him come
outside. When he got outside it was to far away. My brother didn't
know what to think. All of a sudden my brother asked,"Whats that?"
Another one (higher up; again no noise flying from the west)lights
flashing on and off but no distinctive shape. Just as we were about
to discuss what we saw? A third one appeared ( A little lower than
the second and you could make out just a little bit of a strange
shape.) lights rapidly flashing.

I went down to the Medical Center to see if a helicopter was on the
pad to make sure. No signs of a helicopter there. Everything was
quiet! Robert Noland.

That report was given to a Cleveland Ohio UFO group I belong to. A little while later another member came back with this reply:

Hello Everyone,

I live in Sheffield Lake, Ohio near the Lake Erie border.

It was about 7:05 or little after when I was just getting out from an evening class of college.

I looked into the sky to see a bright glowing object. No noise, didn't seem to move and stayed for quite a few minutes. I don't know if it was similar to the Ashtubula case I just received word on... but I too saw the lights and it hovered for quite some time.

It was about Southeast of my location. Which is south east of elyria maybe more east.

Anyways, I'm glad someone else saw a similar object.

God I wish I knew what the heck that thing was.

My scariest time was back when I was 19 and I lived with my mom in this 2 storied house. One nite my mom went out with some of her friends and there was just me, my 1yr old brother and my new born daughter was at home. The kids were asleep and I was upstairs with them watching tv in my moms room when I heard heavy footsteps outside my moms window coming up towards her window. I was so scared I started shaking and I finally got bold and looked ooout the window and I never saw anything. I knew it couldnt have been an animal the footsteps were too heavy. Then I heard the front door open up and I thought my mom had come home so I waited for her to come upstairs but she never did. So i went downstairs to tell her about what happened and I saw the front door standing wide open and I said to myself "Why didnt mom shut the door?" So I shut it and I proceeded to go into the kitchen because I thought she either went to the bathroom or was in the kitchen. I called out mom but I never heard anything and when I went into the kitchen there was no one there or even in the bathroom. This really scared the crap out of me. I turned on every light on in the house and ran upstairs and turned on all the lights, I grabbed the kids and sat in my moms room in the corner with the kids curled up waiting for my mom to come hhome. When my mom finally came home she saw how scared I was and she believed everything that I told her. She told me that wasnt the first time for the footsteps on the roof. She said she had heard them several times and always at the same time. She said also that she would come downstairs in the morning and the front door would be opened but she never thought anything about it because she thought me or my brother had opned it that morning and just didnt cclose it. I was so scared to stay in that house. When we first moved in there it didnt feel right to me anyway. The basment was the scariest part. In it there was some kind of symbols drawn there on the wall and there was a freezer down there that kind of gave me the creeps. None of us was ever brave to open it because yoou got a funny feeling when you were around it. I never was so glad when we finally moved out of that house it really scared the he@@ out of me to live there.

Thanks go out to Kenny Young for forwarding me the following information.
------- Forwarded E-mail -------
Hi Kenny - I just learned of something that I thought you might be interested in. On one of the astronomy lists I lurk on, there was discussion of a couple of spectacular photos of a supposed meteor fireball that occurred over Wales last week. See:http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap031001.html
There was speculation that it was faked, or just a jet contrail, etc. Then someone pointed out that the digital photos contained imbedded "metadata" called EXIF which identifies all sorts of things about the photo. (see:http://max.grenkowitz.net/Photography/MakePicEXIF_Header.asp
This led them to begin to accept them as real.
Maybe MUFON is already well aware of this but in case not I thought that rather than post it to a public UFO list I would pass it to a MUFON member for quiet dispersal to other field investigators. Could be valuable in future digital cam cases. I don't know if digital _video_ has similar imbedded data but I would suspect so.

Copied below is the information from the second link that could prove useful in investigating digital photo cases.

EXIF Headers

There is quite some information in these JPG images, derived from a camera. I consider the data as very valuable, because it is always available as part of the image, I do not need to keep a diary to record these values, and the data can be extracted (via software) and included as information along with the image description.
The following listings show the contents of EXIF headers. The short version contains the information I extract and use in my image lists.
The longer version is simply there to show what's actually available in the EXIF header.
Feel free to follow the links for more information on EXIF Version 2.1 ( 585 KB) and / or JEIDA Standard ( 132 KB).

Subject: Discussion into UFO Coverage in the Media
From: Kenny Young
Sent: 11/2/2003 7:32 PM

Whether or not any news media takes interest in UFO activity may be a hit or miss situation. Aside from ideology and ignorance keeping the topic from obtaining serious reportage (no conspiracy there, necessarily), it's possible that rating sweeps and entertainment value play a big factor when the subject does get coverage.

A Cleveland, Ohio TV news crew traveled quite a distance down to my place in Florence, Kentucky to do a piece on UFOs about 2 weeks ago, using as the basis of their report a terribly sorry home video from some Cleveland folks who had apparently been videotaping MARS nightly for 3 or 4 nights. This video was obviously that of Mars and the news team had to know this, but I was of the impression that they were desperate for a story and wanted a 'spin' put on the story to imply this was a UFO or ET related.

The news station paid travel expenses for the two folks who shot the video of Mars to travel along separately, so they could show the video. The reporter repeatedly said the video was 'strange' and 'impressive,' and what's worse is that the credentials of the reporter (which Donnie Blessing later found online) was most interesting - "served in the Army National Guard for eight years and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. During the Gulf War, served as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare Specialist. Earned commendations for both physical fitness and service overseas," plus it goes on to state that this reporter received an Emmy for previous reporting. Yet despite all this, the reporter could not identify this horrific video they were presenting as the planet Mars - which is quite obvious to most anyone?

I'm not sure about things but have entertained the suspicion that the reporter could have been playing it coy to see if Donnie Blessing or I would call this something 'strange.' But I did get the impression they were disappointed by our conclusions and desperate for an E.T. spin on this sorry video.

The fact is that there's not a whole lot to report without substantive documentation, like a good daylight video of a monster UFO flying along at treetop level. That stuff just isn't there. And when it is there, I think the news media would eat it up, but the quality of their coverage all depends on the reporter and his/her abilities to assemble a news story and make it informational and objective.

Kenny asked me to post this:
UFO CONFERENCE COMES TO CINCINNATI, OHIO

(Cincinnati, OH - Sept. 28, 2002) - The 39th Annual National UFO Conference will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio this year. The conference will take place at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center and begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th. The day-long event will feature displays and exhibits, vendors and lecturers.

Appearing at the conference will be Congressional Candidate STEPHEN BASSETT, who will speak about the "Politics of Disclosure." Bassett is an independent candidate for congress in Maryland's 8th District. He will be the first person to ever appear on any national/gubernatorial November ballot who speaks to the fact of an extraterrestrial presence and the government imposed embargo on the truth of that fact.

DERREL SIMS, a Certified Hypnotic Anesthesiologist and Certified Medical Hypnotherapist, will speak about "Advanced Alien Technology." Sims has researched alleged UFO abductions and has been involved in the surgical removal of suspected "alien implants." He will display several of these reported implants and also speak about the discovery of fluorescence, a residue found on abduction victims and also found at various cattle mutilation locations.

Also appearing will be JIM MOSELEY, a permanent chairman of the National UFO Conference, and the author of a just-published book, "Shockingly Close To The Truth."

DONNIE BLESSING of the Mutual UFO Network will speak about recent UFO sightings in Ohio. Donnie is a retired librarian from the Clermont County, Ohio Library system and she has had a life long interest in UFOs.

RICK HILBERG will present an illustrated "UFOs: The First 30-Years." Hilberg, a UFO researcher and lecturer, has written and published numerous articles about UFOs for over 30-years. He is the editor of Flying Saucer Digest and Weirdology Newsletter, a Fortean publication. He is one of the founders of the National UFO Conference.

Other speakers include DON WEATHERBY, WENDY BAN, JERRY BLACK, TERRY ENDRES, and noted investigator JOHN TIMMERMAN of the Center for UFO Studies.

The 39th Annual NATIONAL UFO CONFERENCE will be held at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center and begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. For additional information about the conference, send email to "ufo@fuse.net" or check the Cincinnati UFO Research website at http://home.fuse.net/ufo or call the Ohio UFO Hotline at 513-588-4548.

I think the 39th Annual NATIONAL UFO CONFERENCE in Cincinnati went over very well. I can make a few observations, being the conference coordinator, concerning my perception of the event and its outcome as per our expectancy going in, and that will obviously be different than one who was simply attending the conference.

From my perception of conference organizer, I think we had absolute tons of publicity for the conference for months, weeks, days and hours leading up to the event, but although our turnout did not reach the targeted '300 people' we were optimistically hoping for, we had a fair turnout of about 150 people. At least it was a 'break even' event but considering the time, effort and anticipation involved in its organization, it would have been nice to come out ahead a little more. There were a few no-shows who said they would be there. I attribute the less than robust turnout to a tough ideological climate in the conservative Cincinnati tri-state, compounded by a general complacency and lack of interest and curiosity in the UFO subject.

On the other hand, the conference itself was fun. Don Weatherby and Wendy Ban really saved the day in many ways, and their efforts are really appreciated. There was a large contingent of news media reporters and camera crew roaming about throughout the day as John Timmerman gave a well-received presentation and photographic slide-show (I hope he plans to do many more) and Rick Hilberg also delivered a good historical presentation of "UFO's, The First 30 Years." Terry Endres had an informative Power Point presentation concerning astronomical sciences and the ET hypothesis, but the real big hit of the afternoon session was Jerry Black, who eventually won the ideologically resistant crowd over with his powerhouse 'Credibility In UFOlogy' lecture, in which he exposed the fraudulence of MUFON's handling of the Gulf Breeze disaster and addressed the many serious issues concerning the current bag of national UFO investigators. He really caused a fuss. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, but the cantankerous Jerry Black drew a non-stop crowd at his table all day long and for the rest of the night.

The evening session began with author and Saucer Smear editor Jim Moseley, a gritty old timer with a 'tude and also a real fun character to be around. There were many good comments about his lecture. Texas researcher Derrel Sims continued with an interesting presentation called "Advanced Alien Technology," the content of which was said to have caused some conference-goers frightful discomfort, and the real highlight of the conference was the funny, articulate and very intelligent Stephen Bassett who closed out the evening with a firmly held crowd listening attentively to his informative lecture called "The Politics of Disclosure." Several people that I talked with said it was one of the best speeches they have ever heard. I did catch a little of it and can tell you first-hand that Stephen Bassett is an absolutely tremendous speaker, and I would very much want to hear him again.

It was Donnie Blessing who worked extremely hard for the conference, putting in many hours of effort and organizational planning. She also thankfully undertook a good brunt of the media activity which will even be continuing into this week, from my understanding. Many thanks to Donnie and her husband Bobby, plus a special thanks to Chris Coffey, Danny Russell, Bruce M. Forrester Jr., Lance Moody, Earle Benezet, Jeff Sindiong Video Productions, Bob Leibold and Natural Light Productions, Carol Bieber, Gerald Jones and Dr. Gregory Tyree, Ph.D. and all the others for their hard volunteer work in putting this together. And I thank everyone for coming to the conference and hope they had a good time, learned something and took home a memorable experience. I certainly did.

On Saturday, September 28th, I attended the National UFO Conference held at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was an informative day-long event with attendance around 150 people, a very diverse crowd of all ages and interests. I of course shared a table with KYMUFON and put up my board on NKYPYG, and left out hand-outs for the taking by the crowd. The Cincinnati Bigfoot table had the best equipment though - one of those new iMacs with the widescreen, flat panel displays running a powerpoint presentation. I have so got to get one of those!!!! Amazing. *lol*
Here are my notes on the top speakers:
Rick Hilberg gave a wonderful presentation on Ufology: The First 30 Years.
  • Ghost Rockets after WWII in Scandanavian countries.
  • In 1967-1968 was the Condit Committee.
  • The Spaur-Huston sighting occured on April 17, 1966. Hilberg was an investigator on this case.
  • Clouds in photos can prove/disprove a hoax. By asking, "how long was the object in view?," you can then look at the photos and see how much the cloud formations changed. Very little = true photos, A lot = hoax.
  • In Lebenon, Ohio in September of 1973 there was a photo taken of an event involving multiple witnesses.
  • In October 1973, Lawrence Coin had an object approach his helicopter over Mansfield, Ohio.
  • There are categories of creatures:
Category A are known as "Alpha Humanoids." They are close to folklore descriptions, like elves and fairies.
Category B are known as "Beta Humanoids." They are known as the "space brothers" and have long hair and look very similar to humans in appearance.
Category C are known as "Beta 2 Humanoids." They are even closer to humans in appearance than Beta 1, with short hair and seem to have a connection with the Alpha humanoids.
Category D are known as "Gamma Form Humanoids." They are everything else, like bigfoot and the creatures from south america.
  • Europe had a lot of "visitors" who were interested in collecting samples of everything. The "visitors" were short in height and landed in some sort of pod and then took off in the same pod after collecting whatever they were after, in one case a woman who was visiting a grave was asked for her socks (who knows?).
  • Then of course, there was the infamous Barny and Betty Hill case.
Don Weatherby and Wendy Ban of OHMUFON are the creators of MUFON's newly created WUFOD (which is of course for use by MUFON only).

  • WUFOD runs on a Sun Solaris (UNIX) Server using Razor Issues (a tracking tool developed to track bugs through generic releases).
  • WUFOD is for incoming UFO and abduction cases. People enter information into a form and it is emailed to the appropriate state/section director for distribution to investigators.
  • A statistical report is automatically compiled every Friday. This is posted on www.mufon.com and can be accessed by anyone.
  • The hope is that reports show trends that could possibly predict a future UFO event.
  • The WUFOD is shared with other groups like the National Institute of Discovery Science to compare data.
  • Triangles have flight paths between military installations. NIDS has a lot of data on this. NIDS is privately funded with professional scientists.
  • It is easier to see patterns in the data by creating pie and line charts.
Jerry Black gave a fiery speech on Credibility In Ufology.

  • Black investigated the Gulf Breeze case. It was a hoax.
  • He was the principal investigator on the Ladies of Liberty (Liberty, KY) abduction case. He was angered that he had to go to the National Enquirer to find funding to compensate the ladies for what they went through during hypnosis. He blasted organizations like MUFON for not being able to provide the funding.
  • He thinks that organizations like MUFON should stop using "in-house" resources and start going outside of the organization to find people that can provide polygraph tests, etc. This is the only way to keep from contaminating investigations because "in-house" people tend to use leading questions, etc.
  • Black does not polygraph everyone who comes to him with a UFO sighting. (lol).
  • UFO BOOKS SELL.
John Timmerman of CUFOS gave a traditional speech on UFOs.

  • He thinks that we need to change the media's view of the phenomenon.
  • People need to be able to SEE the phenomenon to change their perceptions (pictures, videos, etc).
  • He four points for changing people's views:
    1) Find a way to share information with the public.
    2) Let the public know where to report sightings.
    3) Let them know you're professional and won't ridicule their story.
    4) Get emotion involved by using voice when giving the details of a case to the public.
Derrel Sims came in from Texas to give his presentation.

  • Whoever are abducting people are masters at using virtual reality scenarios to cover up more sinister things.
  • While speaking with his friend in the intelligence community, he was informed that "fast walkers," after dropping off visible satellite pictures are still visible in infrared.
  • Sims is the discoverer of a phenomenon known as flouresense. We should use black lights when investigating abductees, UFO landings, Cattle Mutilations, etc. to look for this stuff.
  • 45% of abductees are either Native American or Irish.
  • Diagnetic magnets when combined with aluminum can make stuff float (off topic).
The highlight of the night was Stephen Bassett's speech on the Politics of Disclosure. I had a chance to speak with Bassett after the conference and he asked me to get in touch with John Greenewald since he started out in ufology at my age. Bassett is an amazing speaker and really knows his stuff. He is taking ufology into the right direction!

  • Bassett is in charge of the Paradigm Research Group (www.paradigmclock.com).
  • 2003 is the best time for Disclosure.
  • The cold war is over so UFOs are no longer a security concern. The 1947 National Security Act was relaly because of UFOs, not Russians.
  • In 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, government officials started talking.
  • The Rockafeller Initiative was an attempt in 1992 to make a disclosure president. This failed with Clinton ("If I put you over at Justic I want you to find out two things: 1 who killed JFK and 2 the truth behind UFOs").
  • The military is 80% republican ran now (this is opposite of how it used to be during the secrecy).
  • The UFO issue is the most important issue right now.
  • Bassett is a registered lobbyist on behalf of UFO researchers and organizations. He started X-PPAC (www.x-ppac.org) which is a political action committee that focuses on the extraterrestrial issue.
  • Some Washington lingo for you: Bassett doesn't want to pull a "Ginsburg," which would be messing up his chances on the talk show circuit by saying the wrong thing (that there's nothing to the issue). [Ginsburg was Monica Luwinski's lawyer].
  • The media CANNOT cover ET/UFO related stories because of some kind of agreement with the NSA. This is an unproven hypothisis of Bassett and some recommended reading on the subject would be The Missing Times.
  • There is a fundamental tear in America's Social Contact because:
    1. The Need to know basis.
    2. The Don't ask, Don't tell policy
    3. The "You Can't handle the truth" ideology.
  • These three tears were not planned for in our founding documents like the Constitution or Declaration of Independence (they don't mention those 3 policies). We won't be able to repair the social contact if it gets too damaged!
  • The government appears to be upside down right now with politicians going by the idea, "You're here to put us in office and pay our sallary. We're not here to servce you, you serve us."
  • There was 13 billion spent during the cold war to build the "secret empire", a several layer classification system, black budget, etc. We shouldn't be paying for stuff like this now that the cold war is over.
  • Either 1) they're here to take us over or 2) they're here to help us. Either way we need a disclosure to let this knowledge known! If 1 is the case, let us know so that we can all put our heads together and come up with a solution to the threat, or if 2 is the case there is no reason to not let us know!
  • To those that think there are more important issues like world hunger, etc: "Our 'house' isn't in order and it's not going to get in order so let's have a disclosure! The disclosure may come with solutions to these world problems."
  • There has been a propaganda campaign in effect: UFOs are not real, UFOs do not exist.
  • The United States has to have disclosure before other nations can. France had a quasi-governmental group publish a paper saying ETs were the cause of the UFO phenomenon and they chastised the US for not disclosing yet.
  • UFO disclosure goes hand in hand with the terrorist threat. Bush is the disclosure president. That's why he won the election (remember the scandal? He didn't win the popular vote) and that's why he chose his cabinet like he did. He has former heads of security, secretaries of staff, etc.
  • The disclosure is aiming simply for a formal recognition of the UFO phenomenon.
  • Steven Greer says the disclosure will come with a call to arms and money will be put into the "space command" because they're a "threat" (possibly) and the governemnt has to get itself out of the secrecy, a mistake in the first place, and let us know before the social contact can be fixed.
  • The government isn't acting how it should be because things keep going wrong (he hinted to a 9-11 connection here).
  • The internet is an alternate media source. It's a counterforce to the media veil in place on top media today. PRAVDA (http://english.pravda.ru), the soviet union's old propaganda paper is an example of this.
As you can tell, I took most of my notes on him. He knows his stuff! I hope to keep in touch with him on these topics and more...

Curious turn out for alien gathering

UFO researchers meet at Kings Island

By Lisa Bernard

Cox News Service

MASON | "Rebirth of Curiosity" was the theme Saturday at the 39th annual National UFO Conference held at Kings Island Resort and Conference Center.

Hundreds attended the all-day event, checking out everything from plaster molds of alien footprints to literature written by alien abductees.

Dave Bachman of northern Kentucky said he came to feed his curiosity.

"This type of thing has always fascinated me," he said. "I don't know if everyone's story is true, but I think there's too much of it out there for it all to be hoaxed."

Laura Bentley of Cincinnati said she attended to see what "strange people came out of the woodwork. I guess it's morbid curiosity."

Curious people like Bachman and Bentley keep alive the study of possible extraterrestrial life, said conference coordinator Kenny Young.

"Often the subject of UFOs is one of tomfoolery, and we know that," Young said. "We don't take ourselves seriously, but we take our research very seriously."

Young said "certainty" — about uniqueness of life on this planet or any set of beliefs — can lead to limiting, deadly consequences. He used last year's attacks by Muslim terrorists as an example.

"They had certainty in their faith and it gave them motivation behind their actions," he said. "Perhaps if they were curious about other cultures and beliefs, things might be different today. Curiosity is perhaps the only mechanism we have against the scourge of certainty."

Among the speakers was Cincinnati-based UFO investigator Donnie Blessing of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), who said Ohio has at least 50 reported UFO sightings each year.

A retired Clermont County librarian, Blessing has been investigating UFO events for two years and is director of MUFON's southern Ohio branch.

"It's hard to tell if people are telling the truth or not when I call them and talk to them about their sighting," she said. "Some of the stories seem too fantastic. But when you get them in person, you can tell pretty quickly."

Blessing added, "People need to have an open mind about this. It's just up to us keep researching."

Subject: Crisis at CUFOS
From: Bill Jones
Sent: 10/12/2002 2:15 AM

To All:

Having attended the Board meeting with Jerry I can only report that Jerry's assessment of the condition of CUFOS is accurately stated here. This condition is not the result of any actions or inactions of the Board members or because of a lack of leadership and skills of those who have been involved in the day-to-day management of the Center. Rather I think it is reflective of the condition of Ufology today, at both the national and local levels. Subscriptions are down with all of those newsletters, journals and magazines that take a more-or-less objective approach to the subject. There are probably many reasons for this. The Internet is the one most often cited. Also, in our society today people are not volunteering their time and money as much as they used to, since it now seems to take two or more incomes for a family to keep up an average standard of living while years ago, one adult family member could do that. I don't think Americans care less today than they once did. UFO sightings are down, or they seem to be, irrespective of the seemingly constant flow of usually lesser quality sighting reports (lights in the sky type reports) through important channels of information such as the National UFO Reporting Center and Filer's Files, and through other less important channels as well. But I think there has come a realization that the UFO phenomena is a mystery that just isn't going to be resolved easily (if at all) with the tools we have at hand within ufology, certainly with the extremely low level of funds that are available to it. We seem to have pushed the envelope of knowledge about as far as we are currently able. So the interests of ufologists are being directed into other areas of community involvement where perhaps they can make more of a difference. And certainly with our country being involved in the strange war against terrorism and the prospects of a larger war with Iraq, the focus of the media and the media's reader and viewer ship is not on UFOs.

The J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies brings a unique intellectual viewpoint to Ufology. While this viewpoint has often brought criticism its way, without that viewpoint I believe the field of Ufology will suffer. The Center emphasizes that good quality research approaches must be applied to whatever subject is being studied. No claim should be made without good evidence to support it. The Center has been criticized by some for pursuing the Roswell story beyond the point in time where these people believe the story had been satisfactorily resolved. While the resolution of that story is open to some question, if one looks at how the Center has studied the story, I think you will see that it was attempting to locate good quality evidence that others had not yet found. Perhaps that evidence is not out there. Perhaps investigator's time and resources could have been spent better on other pursuits. That is a matter for debate. But what the Center cannot be criticized for is its approach. It didn't "believe" in the story. It supported those who were trying to get more facts. It didn't push the Roswell story as an event. It tried to understand better what was behind that event, be it a Mogul balloon, a government experiment run amok, an alien event, or the result of lies and deceptions from a number of sources. What is wrong with that? What is wrong with the application of some intellectual discipline to a story that certainly has intrigued most of us for a long time? We need an organization within Ufology that epitomizes that approach.

The Center needs your help. If the Center is going to survive the subscription base must be increase substantially, somewhere close to what it once was. The IUR was the funding base for the Center. It helped pay the overhead costs for the office and the maintenance of a very comprehensive and valuable set of records that are unique within the field. I have to be realistic here. It will be very difficult for the subscription base to come up to the required level fast enough for the Center to survive with an office and the associated resources. What is immediately needed if the office is going to survive is an infusion of funds - a donation - from one or several people that will give the Center a chance to increase the IUR subscription base and once again find other sources of funding. The Center was successful at this in the past and I would hope there is like support out there in the future. Inspire of the economic slow down, there are rich people out there who wouldn't miss the relatively small amount of funds (for them) that the Center needs. Or in the alternative, if a large number of more normal folks (like me) would each donate smaller amounts of funds, the result would be the same. If a sufficient amount of funding becomes available, a trust fund could be set up for the Center that could help pay the overhead bills. Sufficient funding for a trust fund could make the funding problem go away for good. Is there someone out there that any of you know who might be interested in helping with this? Please think about it. To survive in its current form, the Center needs help soon, certainly within the next two months or so.

While this seems to be doom-and-gloom for the supporters of the Center, I think the Center can and will survive without the office and the infrastructure that it now possesses. It won't be able to provide the same services that it now does. There will be no Center where researchers can go to use the Center's library and records. But I have argued for the Center's continuing role within ufology. I think even the IUR can survive, perhaps at a lower publication rate. But the Center still needs some level of support of the UFO research community to do this.

Folks, there is a role for the Center but it needs your support. If CUFOS can't survive, then perhaps the other major organizations around the US and overseas can't either. Do we really want the survival of ufology to depend on just what is available on the Internet? I think not.

Please, if you can help, do so. We need to keep alive Dr. Hynek's vision of a center of quality where scientists and other serious researchers can go to get information and do research. It is up to each of you to see that CUFOS survives.

Subject: Crisis At CUFOS

Listfolk:

The continued existence of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) is in question. By "continued existence" I mean that CUFOS as it has existed since 1973, when Dr. Hynek and Sherman J. Larsen created it, may fold within the next few weeks.

That was the issue discussed at length in the board meeting I attended in Chicago last Saturday (October 5). Revenue has been down significantly, and soon it will no longer be possible to keep the office - with its extensive files and resources, a world-class collection - open. Already discussions have opened with a university which has expressed interest in the materials.

CUFOS' principal revenue source is International UFO Reporter (IUR), published four times a year for $25. IUR is often described as the best UFO magazine in the English language, with its emphasis on sober research and analysis. Like most (possibly all) other UFO journals, however, our subscription base has eroded over the years, a victim of the Internet and other forces beyond our control.

Without a substantial number of new subscriptions and renewals to IUR, CUFOS will be reduced to a kind of skeletal state, at worst surviving only as an website with occasional articles and reviews under the IUR title. The archives, with their convenient central location in Chicago, have been used by ufologists from all over the world, but they will no longer be available at their old address.

Allen Hynek started CUFOS as a scientific clearing house for reliable UFO data. He died in 1986, but those of us who survived him have done our best to keep his mission alive. We're now turning to you to make it possible to continue.

If you haven't seen IUR lately, here are the tables of contents for the past two issues:

This is absolutely absurd! I am TIRED of hearing this from EVERY organization out there! Why do individuals "need" money to further study of the UFO phenomenon?

Just like Jerry Black said at the National UFO Conference, ufology is based upon individual investigators who spend out-of-pocket money to SERIOUSLY investigate sightings, which is what CUFOS claims to do (except for the money part). Organizations like CUFOS and even the USUFOIRC need to stop trying to pay for an "office" where they can house records. Paper records are dead, even MUFON recognizes that fact.

A successful organization needs no more than a web server and/or data server to house records of anomalous events and SERIOUS, OBJECTIVE, and even SKEPTICAL researchers and field investigators out and about to further our understanding of the UFO phenomenon. What has become way too apparent in ufology today is the idea that organizations "need" money. To gain the money, which obviously doesn't go towards the things it should, just about every organization out there publishes a journal of some sorts which is usually included in a membership fee.

If we want to seriously advance this field using the expertise of ALL our resources, we're going to have to get away from that "it needs money" ideology as well as get away from the "rival UFO groups" situations. Who cares how much money you can spend to join any ONE organization if you have the skills that the entire field needs? If we seriously want to get public interest back up in ufology one thing is certain: telling people that they have to PAY ridiculous prices to "join" an organization is not the way to do it.

Sean;

There is no easy answer to any of this, but the continuous downward spiral of UFO research toward complete destruction is inevitable. You seem to suggest that funding is 'bad,' yet you offer no substantive solution. Funding just isn't there for anything, whether it be for the collective organization or for the individual researcher.

In the absence of academic recognition and in the vacancy of substantive funding, the current state of popular UFOlogy is basically maintained by "volunteers" and "hobbyist researchers," many of whom may unfortunately be nuts and screwballs. Not that the major UFO organizations were somehow exempt from infiltration by countless crackpots, but at least at the 'organizational level' there was (at times) a meager attempt at screening process to weed out the goofballs that UFOlogy eternally and unrelentingly attracts.

An organizational structure, if scientifically based and properly adhered to, can be something positive. CUFOS and some other groups do offer a form of organization and peer review to their programs, although not altogether perfect it is better than a 'for each his own' or 'wild wild west' approach that you seem to suggest.

Although you raise some interesting points, I suppose I'll have to disagree with you (but with no level of extreme fervor).

I was not suggesting such an approach.

My suggestion is that a "center" of the ufology field needs to be established around which ALL investigators come together to share data at.

The rival UFO group problem isn't going to go away over night but we need to transition away from it and part of that process is to stop charging outrageous membership fees for something you don’t get a real return from.

Volunteerism is the only way to further research right now. The best investigators out there aren’t in it for the money.

Sean;

I'll spare others the continued discussion here and just include a final word of disagreement on this point (from my end) directly to you, but allow me to stress that the study of UFOs desperately need to detach from the volunteer front that you seem to endorse. I can only say so many times that volunteerism equals undisciplined crackpotery. Further, I would also reject the need or even a remote desire to merge 'all' investigators together to share data. What the heck and why on earth? You have to have rocks in your head to think this is a rational solution. It should be stressed that there is some data not worth sharing and the infiltration of kooky data into a substantive database is a bad call. As always, resist coalitioning! But I agree with you that we need new thinking and dispense with old, outmoded ideas.

The definition of insanity is to repeat the same process repeatedly with the expectation of a different result, so by all means, they should try something new.

Yea, looks like we'll have to disagree. I believe that that's where training comes in. We can't expect these people to understand the disciplines required to properly investigate any type of anomalous phenomenon so we have to teach them how to be a competent field investigator and/or researcher. True, there are crackpots out there who don't want to be either of those things and want to do their own thing. But they're the ones you hit up for a small amount of money to put into a fund to purchase better investigative equipment.

If they have something valuable to add to the field, and have the willingness to get what needs to be done done, they shouldn't be charged to participate in the happenings of an organization.

I'm not saying throw everyone into the same room and let them duke their opinions on paranormal phenomena out - there needs to be a centralized oversight committee made up of the best investigators out there to organize and mediate things and then under that create a cabinet for each type of known paranormal occurrence which would then be subdivided into lets say research, investigating, public relations, and have one guy who brings everything together, writes the reports, and briefs the oversight committee and/or representatives of each cabinet on the results of each investigation.

The goal of course should be to determine if there is a relationship between the different occurrences and fundamentally if there is anything to the reports of the certain occurrence at all. Crackpots have money; investigators have a hard enough time paying for expenses in the course of an investigation. We need to watch this "we need money" model and transition to something better. Obviously in today's society, which is a great deal more educated than it was in the early days of ufology, the model is collapsing. So, I agree, we need something new and I think lessening the scope of the money model may be our first step in bringing ufology back from the ashes of the public eye.

I think the best solution is to have a UFO Hunters like we have a Ghost Hunters show and web site.
I know they argue and make it a little like a reality show, but folks this is how they try to make it more real and less boring, because we know finding facts on the paranormal is tedious and time consuming.
Ghost Hunters investigate many sites that show no proof, and have yet to find exact proof, but it is a very good and objective show. I know when they claim the evidence is real then I will be confident it is.

That's an excellent idea and there have been several UFO specials on all sorts of networks, but never a weekly show. UFO sightings tend to come in flaps and there can be months at a time without any good sightings in a certain area. You'd need a ton of money to fly the investigators/actors around the country to get to the best sighting reports. If we had funding like TAPS did we could put in place regional camera/radar centers similar to the Hessdalen system, and use them as our bases of operation as we travel around the country investigating reports. Now where's a Sci-Fi Channel recruiter when you need one...lol

Subject: MY UFO/UAP ENCOUNTER
From: SrchngMystc1 (Original Message) Sent: 10/8/2004 1:35 PM
Hello to the group:

When this actually occured eludes me now but the best of my memory places it in the summer or early fall of the mid '90's between Clarksburg & Frankfort OH on ST RT 138.
My boyfriend (who was driving what I called the Honda hoopdee because there was always something going wrong with it), my daughter, & I were going to my mother's house outside of Frankfort. It was clear outside with plenty of stars in the sky when I noticed off to my right a strange "something" that looked as if it were hovering above the only farmhouse at the crossroad of Egypt Pk. From my viewpoint, at a distance of maybe 1/2 mile, it looked like a glowing orange/red circle about the size of a basketball. Interested in watching this thing to see what happened next I had him to pull off the side of the road. No sooner had we parked that this thing went straight up about a mile into the sky & imploded to a single red dot & stayed motionless for about 30 sec then all of a sudden shot toward us & stopped where it looked as if it had us in it's sights. Not knowing (or unwilling to admit) to what we were witnessing my boyfriend decided to flash the headlights at it on/off 3 times amazingly enough the red dot blinked on/off 3 times. This is about the time I started to go into shock I think because right after the exchange it swooped down and reverted to the "orange basketball" again & stopped at the point that it looked more like beachball in the middle of the windshield. When it just hovered there I told him to honk the horn at it to see what it would do~he says to me the horn doesn't work remember~ at the same time he pushed on it & it blew long & loud! The "orange basketball" pulsed as if in answer & reverted back to the red light~I went from shock to fear because now I knew we had this things attention because it came right up to the car & stopped again about 100 ft off the ground right above us. What we saw was the bottom side of what looked like the Starship Enterprise it made no sound save for the barest of a humming vibration that I felt more than heard. Needless to say we sat there dumbfounded as to "What Now"? Slowly it made it's way past us to follow the route we had come. As we were sitting there deciding on whether or not to turn around & follow it I looked to the sky where it had shot up the 1st time to see what looked like jets that were flying on a grid pattern like they were looking for it. We decided to turn around & follow it to see where it was going or what it would do until we couldn't keep up with it anymore because it had went "cross county" so to speak & headed right for Circleville with no other incidents to speak of. When we finally got to Mom's she asked us what had taken so long for us to get there (the drive is only about 10 min) & when I asked her what she was talking about~so long?~she said that I had called her almost 2 hrs before as we were headed out the door. In my mind we had only takin maybe 1/2 an hour for the whole encounter. To this day I really don't know for sure if there is more to this story than what I have described. If there is documentation on what we witnessed that night or if anyone else was a witness to it also I haven't found any information or articles on the web on this particular incident.

Bill Jones-Ohio State Director

Donna Chandler-Secretary

Paul Althouse-Webmaster Ohio MUFON Website

Donnie Blessing-Southern Ohio Section Director

Bruce Forrester-Section Director for the Dayton area.

From Kentucky we had:

Earle Benezet-Kentucky State Director

Kenny Young-Northern Kentucky Section Director

Sean Feeney-Field Investigator Trainee and Director of Youth Programs

April Tipton-Secretary Kentucky MUFON

In the minutes below I will touch briefly on the highlights of each speakers presentation.

The program was opened by Donnie Blessing who talked about the purpose and goals

of Ohio MUFON. Donnie also introduced each guest speaker.

Rick Crawford from the Historical Society of Clermont County Ohio talked about UFO and

creatures sightings from the county. He brought with him copied newspaper articles of

some of the sightings. Some of the sightings dated back to 1941.

Next speaker was Sean Feeney who did a power point presentation about NKYPYG,
his Northern
Kentucky Paranormal Group. This also included the best way to go about investigating

a UFO sighting, listing points to cover. Sean also spoke of two future projects: having a

computer database dedicated to paranormal events and UFOs in the Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana
areas and a training manual for NKYPYG/KYMUFON members.

Next on the agenda was John Timmerman who gave a speech entitled "Importance

of UFO Studies" He also presented an interesting audio tape of someone who said they

had been abducted. He also talked about Project L..A.U.R.A.

Next was Kenny Young who did a power point presentation on an alleged UFO

crash at Cape Girarideau, Missouri. Kenny also video taped the meeting.

UFO Investigator Jerry Black spoke next on the Casey County Kentucky UFO

abduction of three women from 1976. Jerry was a key investigator on the case.

Terry Endres, the host of a local TV show called "UFO Live Update" spoke briefly about

an article he had read. The article included information about our brain and our

perception of what we see and false memories. How these memories can be explored

using scientific equipment.

We closed the first part of the meeting with Earle Benezet, the

Kentucky State Director who also did a power point presentation entitled UFO's....Past,

Present and Future showing many photos that depicted UFOs and alien type beings from

historical photographs, etchings on stones and crop circle formations. Earle also spoke

of what he considers a close encounter with a strange light source that caused him to be

paralyzed slowly by an unseen force which moved slowly up his body while he was lying

in bed at his home.

After a 10 minute break we resumed the meeting with a question and answer segment.

Speakers, along with Bill Jones and Bruce Forrester fielded questions from the audience.

Included in this segment was a debate on whether we should rehash old cases or move

forward with new ones. Also debated were the pros and cons of what methods are best

to use when investigating a UFO case. Should we use polygraph and hypnosis?

The program ended at 4:30 PM.

Afterwards several of the speakers and both State Directors went out to eat at Frisch's

Big Boy nearby. The weather was gorgeous on Saturday and I believe that helped bring

out the crowd to the meeting. I hope that we can do this again in December of this year.

I will be looking for speakers.

I'd like to share an experience I had about 3 or 4 years ago.

I had been attending a get-together at my cousin's home in Magnet IN. It was a group of ladies from different parts of Indiana who were all versed in different New Age aspects. There were discussions on crystals, tarot card reading, reiki, etc.

As I was travelling home, about a 30 minute drive, I was driving down the straight stretch, along the river, in the area of Dexter IN. right outside Derby IN. The area has only a few homes but is mostly fields.

All of the sudden, the hairs on the back of my neck rose on end and I saw a glowing orb, for lack of better words to describe it. It was off in a field and seemed to be hovering, then suddenly it bounced and flew up out of sight. As it bounced, it appeared to have a glowing, smeared tail.

To say the least, I was in shock, goose bumps and the whole nine yards.

Later, I told my cousin of the incident and she knew of the lights and said that many people have seen them. Another friend of mine who lived outside Derby IN. also told me that she'd seen the same type of lights bouncing along the river bank late at night, while fishing with her brother.

It was clear, star filled night in the springtime.

I've heard of pilots seeing something they refer to as "Foo-Fighters" that would chase their planes. I've also heard of something called "Willy-Wisps".
These two things sound simular.

Have you heard of experiences such of this?

:::: Original Report to HBCC UFO Research by Witness; Forwarded to Filer's Files #17 April 25, 2002 by Brian Vike (HBCC) ::::

"Brian Vike reports the witness was driving southwest on US 33, February 12, 2002, past the Concord Mall south of Elkhart Indiana at 7:00 PM. He states, "I spotted a greenish light out of my drivers side wing mirror. I saw no other cars and thought this was a train coming out of the Robert Young Rail Yards and heading south towards Goshen." It became apparent that this object was traveling much faster than a train and had crossed the tracks and was approaching the road. I pulled out my camera and snapped two pictures as it crossed over my explorer, headed towards the mall, banking and rose out of sight. These two pictures were taken as fast I as could work the button. My camera was a clever-cam digital camera and I was shooting out of the front window of a Ford Explorer. The object traveled south and passed over me from the left rear to the right front. It was low but climbing fast. I would estimate it's height when it passed over me as about 100 feet high. I heard no noise but had a sense of immense power moving at 400 mph. The object was dark, but seemed to be delta shaped 15 to 20 feet long. See website and photo frame 333. Thanks to Brian Vike."

"ELKHART Correction to FF #17. Erik Marshall writes, "I was driving south west (about 35/40 mph) on US 33 past the K-mart and Concord Mall north of Goshen, in an area called Dunlap and I spotted a greenish light out of my drivers side wing mirror. My camera was a Clever-cam digital camera and I was shooting out of the front window of a Ford Explorer. I saw no other cars and thought this was a train coming out of the Robert Young Rail Yards and heading south towards Goshen. It became apparent that this object was traveling much faster than a train and was approaching the road. I pulled out my camera and snapped the two pictures as it crossed over my Explorer, heading towards the mall. It banked and rose out of sight. These two pictures were taken as fast I as could work the button. The object is not in the third frame as the top of the car was in the way. The object traveled south and passed over me from the left rear to the right front of my car. It was low about 100 feet high, but climbing fast. I heard no engine noise but had a since of immense power. It's hard to estimate speed but 400 mph would seem right. The object was dark, but seemed to be delta shaped with wings 15 to 20 feet long. With it being dark, and moving fast and having nothing to compare it to in the sky, these are just guesses. ::::Official Statement by Witness to Sean Feeney via E-mail Interview ::::

"Hello Mr. Feeney,

Following is the report I sent to Filer Files or UFO round up. I am not sure exactly but I sent this to Majorstar [George Filer] as I didn't know where else to send it. This is a hard case to come up with much evidence on. I was with my 6 month old grand son. We were heading to the Concord Mall after we dropped the other kids off at the Table Tennis matches. For this being a busy street I didn't see or at least didn't remember any traffic at this time. As bright as the exhaust was I should have expected half of Elkhart to have seen it but haven't heard anyone else say they saw it. I showed the pictures at work and they all agreed that I should report this sighting. When I pulled into the mall to shop no one acted like they had seen anything and the lady at the pretzel shop said she hadn't seen anything at all. Since the first I saw the object was in my side view mirror I don't know if it was landed back by CR 45 and I saw it taking off or if it was passing over that area and then speeding on by my position. Either way, the only things that makes me doubt it was a delta shaped military jet airplane was the low level it was flying over an inhabited area, the fact that the exhaust was a greenish color, and I didn't hear any jet engine noise. If this was a jet at only a 100 or so feet above me, I should have heard the noise of the engines. Elkhart has two air ports. One's the pilots club and they fly home built air crafts and flying parachutes and the like. The other has jets and personal air planes. They are usually the ones owned by the small businesses in the area. Anyway, please find enclosed my "light in the sky" photos. These are un-retouched photos, exactly how they were taken. One problem is this camera is digital and there are no negatives. Another problem was there was no related phenomenon. The radio didn't come on, or the head lights dim or the engine loose power. I don't know if it lit up the inside of my explorer as I was to busy trying to take pictures and stay on the road."

I have asked so many people over the years about this subject and I have been told many things and laughed at many times. More peope say thee is somthing in Rocky Hollow. It took me forever to find it. But it is way out in harrison county.
There have been so many people say somthing about seeing or hearing somthing unexplained that is bigfoot like. But they never report it. Check out http://www.bfro.net and a page on there http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=2467 that was in harrison county. That one was me.

Purvismaximus,,,,,

Is it Laconia and/or Fredonia? There's an old river road that runs from Fredonia, Cape Sandy to Alton and through Buzzard's Roost and if followed,,, takes you to Magnet and on to Derby.

I've heard many old stories of odd things in that area.

Just wondering,,,,,

Hi,

I am new here. I had an experience a few years ago in Jackson Co. Ind. that MAY have been Bigfoot. I was fishing at night in a lake bordered by several thousand acres of state, and private, mostly hardwood forest land. Lots of hills rising 300 feet above the surrounding terrain. It was hot even at night and I cast a bass lure into the shallows. When the lure plopped into the water, there were several really big splashes to my right, and then the sound of something running full speed away through the woods. It stopped for just a second. I heard a stick break in that brief moment, then all you could here was the sound of limbs and bushes rustling deeper and deeper into the woods. Keep in mind it was pitch dark and being close to the bank, you couldnt see anything at all even with the moonlight.

Subject: KYMUFON Source Material :: Nibiru
From: Brian Wyatt
Sent: 6/8/2002 1:56 PM

Here's a listing of the source material i've found for the previous two meetings of KYMUFON/Art Bell Fan Club concerning the topics i chose for last month (Is Nibiru Nemesis?) and April (Ophiuchus the 13th Sign of the Zodiac).
  • NIBIRU/NEMESIS:
  •    1)  John S. Lewis, Worlds Without End, 1998, Perseus Books.  This was the book that blew my mind with the report that dwarf stars could condense metals and silicates in their atmospheres (Ch. 10 "Brown Dwarfs and Their Close Kin", pg. 118).  This coincides with the speculation that the Annunaki (possible hominids from a possible dwarf star companion to our Sun?) were here on Earth to mine gold so as to terraform their planet.
  •    2)  Zecharia Sitchin, The 12th Planet, 1976, Avon Books.  This is Book One of the Earth Chronicles by Sitchin.  It is this book which got me wondering if maybe it were true that there may be records of a planet (a real wanderer) that periodically comes into our system from outer space.  It was while rereading this book for the second time that i realized that Nibiru is just a title for the real thing:  Nibiru meaning 'planet of the crossing', and that this title was bestowed upon Marduk.  Chapters 7 and 8 of this book gets into the nitty-gritty of what the ancients may have described as a planet which Sitchin gives as five times larger than the Earth.  However, in light of what i came across concerning dwarf stars and given the spectacular power of Marduk it is easy to see planet Marduk/Nibiru as a dwarf star companion, more gaseous than rocky.
  •    3)  The NASA Atlus of the Solar System, Ronald Greeley and Raymond Batson, 1997, Cambridge University Press.  This is that gigantic book you've seen me bring in.  A really beautiful book chock full of all sorts of (for us and this) pertinent information, e.g. Jupiter (as an example of other gas giants that are likely out there, and there is speculation that our solar companion is jovian-mass - jupiter-sized or greater but not quite stars) emits twice the heat it receives from the Sun which implies that it has an internal source of heat.  Jupiter also has world-sized moons, one of which, Europa, is very likely to host life.    Could the hominid Annunaki be from a world like Europa?  As you may recall planet Marduk (Nibiru) grew members, 'winds', as it passed the other 'Gods of the Assembly', at first bulging a new head and several more as it passed toward the inner planets.  We may recall that planet Marduk had at least seven 'winds', which i have construed as moons or satellites, and that at least one was lost in the battle with Tiamat, the watery primordial planet that was here billions of years ago and which our Earth is  the  reincarnated planet Tiamat.  This leaves planet Marduk with at least five moons and all possibly the size of Jupiter's moons, the Galilean moons, or even Pluto (Pluto itself is commonly referred to now as a planetesimal, not really planet-sized, more like Titan than Mars.
  • As far as the Web?
  • i did find quite a bit.  most of it from (this site is rich with the wonder of our universe and it is from this site that i first learned of Ophiuchus, which i'll get to in a moment, and Nemesis a dwarf star companion believed to circle our Sun and is responsible for the great mass extinction events that have taken place on Earth every 26 million years.
  •    NEMESIS
  •    TIAMAT
  •
  • OPIUCHUS
  •    This is something that i ran across one day while cruising .  i saw something one day about a 13th Sign to the Zodiac, and i thought it was novel.  Later once i got ahold of some killer astronomy software (sponsored by by the way) Starry Night Pro that i learned that there are indeed thirteen constellations on the Zodiac.  Garden-variety horoscopes use only twelve constellations for reading the omens when in fact there are 13.  The Zodiac are all the constellations that rest on theecliptic, or the path the Sun travels through the sky.  Whereever the Sun is at any given moment from our terrestrial perspective at the moment we are born is referred to by astrologers as a person's Sun sign.  Well, due to planetary precession (basically, as the Earth orbits the Sun it wobbles so that this sky over your head right now is the same sky that was here 26,000 years ago and this is same sky in another 26,000 years.  Over the centuries the constellation Scorpius has slipped further off of the ecliptic, and another constellation, or sign, has moved in, Ophiuchus.
  •    Ophiuchus is a huge constellation and is represented as a man clutching a serpent.  His right leg dips well into and below the plane of the ecliptic.  Located between the constellations Sagittarius and Scorpius it has all but removed Scorpius from off the Zodiac.
  •    Briefly, Ophiuchus is a Christlike figure (in number mysticism, 13 represents 12 apostles + 1 Christ) who began life as a man known as Asclepius, son of Apollo the Sun God of the Greeks.  Asclepius was such an effective healer, even raised the dead, that Hades, God of the Underworld and brother of Zeus, petitioned his brother to get rid of Asclepius because Hades was afraid he would no longer have any soul to rule over.  So, doing a solid for his brother, Zeus kills Apollo's son, Asclepius.  Apollo, being incensed to rage against Zeus, kills the Cyclops who make Zeus' thunderbolts.  Zeus, in an effort to make peace with Apollo, sets up a constellation in honor of Apollo's slain son, and here is where the word 'Ophiuchus' enters.  Here is where Asclepius (yeppers, that Asclepius that is even today honored by members of our modern medical professions in their Hippocratic Oath!) becomes Ophiuchus (or "Snake-Bearer" and is relative to the Greek word ophis or snake).
  •    While this is not directly related to the subject of UFOs, it is pertinent to astronomy and our epistimelogy, how we have come to know what we know; plus it was close to Easter, and finally thought it a good topic and a timely one:  and yet so neglected by the mainstreamers, and it seems so obvious to anyone who bothers to look!
  •    Without speculating further as to what this all means, here at last are the weblinks that i have found and that you may look up on your own and decide for yourselves what it all may mean.

Abductions

Subject: Abductee Ankle Monitors
From: Augur
Sent: 11/3/2003 10:43 PM

Thanks go out to John W. of Current-Encounters for this information.

------Begin Forwarded E-mail------
I thought the post below from another group about how to apprehend abducting aliens would be of interest here.

Because the aliens are committing an offense by abducting people, abductees (or their agents e.g. security guards) are legally entitled to execute a citizen's arrest upon the offending aliens, and to hold them until the cops arrive to take custody of and charge them with kidnapping, burglary or trespass with intent to commit a crime, assault if applicable, and (in the U.S.A. a Federal offense under the McCarran-Walter Act 1952, I believe) being illegal immigrants.

But, once the aliens are charged, there would be other legal problems. Because they would have to be charged under their names and home addresses, what proof would there be of their identities and addresses? And, unless they speak English or some other known language for which there are translators available, how would the cops caution them and inform them of their Miranda rights and of the charges against them? How would they instruct and receive advice from lawyers assigned to defend them? Who would post bail for them? And if they cannot understand the language of the Court proceedings, at least through a translator, either an indefinite stay of prosecution would have to be granted, or the charges ordered to be withdrawn, on the ground that the accused aliens cannot understand the proceedings and are therefore unfit to plead or stand trial. In either case, they would have to be released, unless (in the U.S.A. under the Patriot Act) they could be proven to be a threat to national security, as both literal and legal "aliens".

-------End Forwarded E-mail------

-------Attachment: [B-T] Abductee Ankle Monitors--------

Hi Group,

I figured out a way to apprehend the aliens when they return to abduct any multiple abductees. There is an electronic monitoring system now used by many law enforcement agencies to monitor people under house arrest and on electronic leashes. It tells where the person wearing the electronic ankle bracelet is located every second. They have a GPS system built into them. All bracleted people show up on a big map on the monitoring screen at the sheriffs headquarters. The systems now can be set so that if the monitored person cross county borderlines, an alarm is sounded and the sheriffs go track the person down and pick them up. Check Out: http://www.housearrest.com/gps.htm

http://www.housearrest.com/products.htm

This system can be used to monitor abductees that volunteer for this type of surveillance. If they are abducted, or if the aliens remove the ankle bracelet, the sheriffs can move in and stake out the abductees house till the aliens bring them back. Please give me some input on this idea. What do you think? If you are an abductee and this system was available in your area, would you use it to help the police catch the aliens? (Before I get a thousand answers about there not being any way to disable the alien craft, that is the easy part. It is accomplished by the already proven method of disabling the craft's avionics with microwave transmitters.) Additionally, if the aliens have underground bases, the GPS would pinpoint where they are. Art Here is some detailed background on the monitoring system: The Long Arm of the Law Many law enforcers are now using a monitoring system that can keep up with the offender at all times. It is used in conjunction with the Global Positioning System. The Global Positioning System is a constellation of 24 satellites that orbit the earth, which was developed by the US Department of Defense for military purposes.

These satellites constantly transmit radio signals that are picked up by GPS receivers. They can determine your location on the globe, any time, any where, and in any kind of weather. GPS is not only being used by the military -- civilians use this system for many applications such as hiking, boating, and map making.

The criminal justice system is now using the Global Positioning System to monitor those serving time outside of jail. What makes it superior to the previous electronic monitoring system is that it tracks the offender 24 hours a day -- no matter where he is -- at home, at work or in a car. In fact, it can even tell which intersection he is in and what speed the car is going.

Another feature is that boundaries can be set for the offender -- green areas where he is allowed to travel in and red areas (perhaps around the victim's home) where he is not allowed. If the offender goes in one of these areas, a warning signal begins to beep and doesn't stop until he is out of the "hot area." Also, his parole officer is notified so he can check on the situation.

With this system, the offender's every move throughout the day can be monitored and printed out on a computer if necessary. It's easy to tell if he's been at the scene of a crime. Some refer to it as a "virtual jail." This system takes away the opportunity to commit a crime.

How does it work?

The offender wears an ankle or wrist bracelet and has to carry a mobile tracking pack (the receiver) wherever he goes. This receives signals from the Global Positioning System satellites. They are monitored by a monitoring center. If they don't carry the pack or if they try to cut the bracelet, parole officers are immediately alerted -- either by pager, fax, cell phone, or computer.

What are the benefits?

There are a number of benefits for using the electronic monitoring system. It helps reduce the problem of overcrowding in the prison system. It keeps the correctional system from building more prisons, thus saving millions in taxpayer's money.

Housing inmates is extremely expensive -- from $50 to $100 a day per offender. The old electronic monitoring system costs from $7 to $10 a day and the GPS monitoring system costs about $16 a day. Millions of taxpayer's money is being saved. In some places offenders pay their own bill for the monitoring system. They are able to keep working and live in their own home. In Florida, offenders monitored by GPS haven't committed a single felony while on parole.

WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN! ! !

If you receive an email entitled "Bedtimes" delete it IMMEDIATELY. Do not open it. Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It will not only erase everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer.

It demagnetizes the strips on ALL of your credit cards.
It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on your VCR and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you attempt to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only 900 numbers. This virus will mix antifreeze into your fish tank. IT WILL CAUSE YOUR TOILET TO FLUSH WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING. It will drink ALL your beer.

FOR GOD'S SAKE, ARE YOU LISTENING? ? It will leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting company. It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with Rogaine. If the "Bedtimes" message is opened in a Windows 95/98 environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it will also refill your Skim milk with whole milk.

******* WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. *******

And if you don't send this to 5000 people in 20 seconds,
you'll fart so hard that your pants will explode and your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you. Send to everyone. . . . . if you are a blonde, this is a joke.
